The Brief:
The client was looking to expand their outdoor living space by adding a second outdoor structure, following the successful installation of their first Louvre Pod 18 months prior. This new addition was to be installed on a balcony, offering a sheltered yet open environment that would allow the family to enjoy the space in all weather conditions while taking advantage of the panoramic views. The design needed to seamlessly integrate with their existing property and provide a stylish, functional, and comfortable outdoor retreat.
The Solution:
The Louvre Pod was once again the ideal solution to meet the client's needs. Spanning 6 meters in width with a 5-meter projection, the structure was designed to complement their existing outdoor space while enhancing functionality and aesthetics. The Anthracite Grey frame with white louvred blades was selected to create a sleek, modern contrast that blended harmoniously with the property’s architectural style.
To maximise usability and comfort, we incorporated drop-down privacy screens, allowing the client to adjust their level of privacy at will. Perimeter lighting and spot lighting were also integrated into the design to ensure the space could be used day or night. The dimmable lighting options allowed for the creation of different ambiences, from bright and functional to soft and atmospheric, making the space perfect for entertaining or relaxing at any time of day.
This second Louvre Pod installation has successfully transformed the client’s balcony into a versatile, stylish, and weatherproof outdoor living area. Whether basking in the sun, taking in the breathtaking views, or enjoying the space during an evening gathering, the structure provides the perfect balance of shelter and openness.
