Frequently asked questions

Please see below a list of questions frequently asked by our customers.

I am unsure if I require planning for one of these structures

While an extension may require planning permission, this is unlikely for a Glass Veranda, Louvre Pod or Garden Room. From our experience very few of our structures require planning permission. If a planning application is required then planning fee which is generally £180 is payable to the local authorities.

Is there a choice of colours to choose from

All of our products come to site with a quality powder coated finish to ensure the materials are protect from the harshest weather conditions. We offer a huge range of colour choices and can even match to existing window frame colours if required. Anthracite grey seems to be our most popular colour choice this year.

Will I require a concrete foundation for my structure

Normally no, but until we evaluate the site we cannot assume. Glass garden rooms tend to weigh more than our glass verandas and Louvre Pods and will normally require a sound concrete base prior to build. We will provide full guidance.

How is a glass veranda attached to my existing property

Glass verandas look great when attached to you property. They act as a seamless extension to your current floor space. When we install we use an aluminium wall plate which fastens to your existing brickwork. Once secured we run a waterproof sealant along the ridge to fully seal the work.

What is a Louvre Pod

Louvre Pods are Open Space Concepts latest product to be launched. Initially made for the European market, the UK has now taken to this Mediterranean outdoor living space. Fitted with either a retractable roof or bioclimatic aluminium blade roof system, the Louvre Pod is a perfect space for living or entertaining. The Pod can be left open or fully enclosed with glass sliding door panels. Electric blinds, heaters and audio can be additional options. One thing for sure, your Louvre Pod will have everyone talking at any family get togethers! The Louvre Pod can be attached to your building or act as a standalone structure in the garden. They also are great for commercial applications. Due to their aluminium powder coated structure, state of the art drainage system, they are extremely resilient to all weather conditions.

Is there a set pricing structure for a Louvre Pod, Glass veranda, or Glass garden room.

We calculate all our structures on size and materials used. So in theory we can provide an indicative price on first communication. However, every job is bespoke, and ground preparation and the many available add on features to any of our systems will have an effect on the final price. You will be pleasantly surprised how affordable our products are.

Is there much maintenance

We recommend periodic cleaning and oiling of any moveable parts, such as hinges. Other than this your structure should be very light maintenance.

How long from ordering can I expect my new purchase to be installed

Typically, from order to installation takes 12-14 weeks. All of our products and main structures are fabricated to your design in our German factory. Once manufactured to applications of powder coating takes place before being dispatched to our central UK premises. We then fully check each component before it leaves for install. We will always keep you fully informed on the progression of your order and give a relatively accurate installation date when you order.
